My Window View
I have my very own window in our RV. It’s down on the floor in the front, right at my dad’s feet. It’s the perfect spot for a shepherd on duty. I can see straight ahead and watch the miles fly by. I sit there and help Dad drive. It’s an important job, and I’m really good at it.
Palm Tree Sniffing
We travel a lot. Any time it gets cold, we head south, just like the birds do. In the winter, we drive until the trees change and the palm trees start showing up. Palm trees are some of the best trees to sniff. They smell warm and sunny, even when the air feels cold. When I see the first palm tree of the season, I know things are about to get good. I always go right up to it, nose first, because no good shepherd ever skips a premium sniff.
Ocean Love
I love the ocean too. The warm wind, the salty air, and the people who always smile at me. It’s one of my favorite places to be.
A Police Officer Approves
One time at a stoplight in St. Augustine, Florida, a police officer pulled up next to us. I was sitting in my window, watching the road like always. He looked at me, nodded, and gave me a big thumbs up. My people said he was impressed with how well I was telling Dad how to drive. I felt pretty proud. It’s not every day a real officer approves of your work.
Winter Woes and Sunny Dreams
But today…
Today is December, and I feel deeply burdened by this turn in the weather. It is freezing. It cannot be more than 50 degrees. I can see the water from my window, and it makes me sad that I cannot be outside where I belong, sniffing, running, and enjoying the world as a proper shepherd should.
The good news? Dad says the weather is better starting tomorrow. Mid-70s, sunshine, and perfect adventure weather. Everything is going to be OK!
So instead of running in the waves today, I curled up in my warm spot, dreaming about sunshine, palm trees, and the ocean calling my name. Soon enough, I’ll be outside again, nose in the wind, paws on the sand, living my best life.
Adventure Awaits
Traveling in the RV is one of my favorite things. Wherever we go, mountains, beaches, sunshine, or even the chilly 50-degree tundra, I get to be with my people, doing my job, watching the world roll by from my window.
The world is big, the wind is fresh, and my paws are ready. Adventure awaits!
